博亚体育app学校 recognizes the prevalence of food allergies among children is increasing. The number of young people who had a food or digestive allergy increased 18 percent between 1997 and 2007 and food allergies now affect an estimated four to six percent of children in the United States. 在某些情况下, allergic reactions to foods may be severe and even life threatening and allergic reactions to foods have become the most common cause of anaphylaxis in 社区 health settings.

Thus, in accordance with 俄亥俄州 Revised Code Section 3313.719, this policy creates a framework for protecting 学生 with known food allergies and to reduce the likelihood of severe allergic reactions while at HB. This policy has been developed in consultation with parents, 学生, 学校护士, 老师, 行政人员, and other 社区 members.

HB is not a peanut-or-tree nut-free environment and it remains the 学生' responsibility to avoid potentially harmful food.

This policy shall take effect in full on September 1, 2016.
